Perspectives is a management consulting firm focused on the external intelligence and assessment needs of R&D organizations and government agencies. We tend to work with organizations in the federal government, but also assist clients in the private sector.
We are experts at rapidly gaining competence in varied fields to assist program managers and principal investigators with information, planning, and decision-making. The firm provides advisory services to science and technology organizations across the breadth of biological, physical, chemical, and information sciences.

Perspectives helps clients understand what’s happening: in a particular field, in adjacent sectors, in nascent commercial markets, and in changing environments.
Our goal is to capture the intellectual climate for a field, to synthesize the market intelligence, technical detail and the various other aspects that ultimately inform success and effect.

We understand how to prepare participants and we keep meetings productive, whether the charge to the board is focused on harnessing customer feedback or on solving a pressing business problem.
Our clients often call on Perspectives to support projects in a variety of ways; We have helped with commercialization strategies, partnership development, identification of applications, grant proposals, project management, and other areas on an as-needed basis.
Our clients frequently work in teams on multidisciplinary projects in fast-changing fields. In these situations we recommend preparing monthly or bi-monthly “tracking reports” that concisely summarize recent developments in a particular area.
We work on fewer than 20 large projects per year; this enables us to stay extremely focused on the needs of each effort. We work with various federal research laboratories, especially within the Department of Energy National Laboratory system. References are available.
